Newport Again

No excuses for more Transport, because that was the way it was, here in Newport. Wynn's were based right in the centre of the town and whatever enetered or left their yard came through the town at some point. The trams which had vanished before the war played an important part of the Town's Heritage. Many stories and anecdotes grew from the trams. One lady back in the 1930s lost her finger in a machine in the Lovell's Sweet factory and was given a wad of cotton wool and the tram fare to the local hospital, to have it sorted. Other tales are of courtship and visits to the old theatres and music halls which we shall be visiting soon. Newport's High Street was undoubtably the best in South Wales, and can be seen in the images below.
